FLAC Player App Reviews

yay

ive been using this application since the beginning, used to be buggy but this version works with 40GB+ flac files and not a single bug :) i tried almost all apps capable of playing flac files on the app store, this one is the best, worth the price

really good

Really nice job guys but i have a request. Can you please add the possibility to make playlists inside the App like in the iPod? the App will than be perfect.

perfect

even works with the high quality files my pc cannot open

love it

As I prefer FLAC over Apple Loosless for several reasons I´ve been searching for a proper FLAC Player for my IPhone quite for some time. This one works like a charm even with OS 7.1 on my phone, I can highly recommend it to everyone who is serious about using flac on his IPhone. It plays every kind of flac files I´ve got in outstanding quality. It even handles my high res 192KHz 24Bit files easliy. When playing back 192KHz 24Bit files directly on my IPhone the output seems to be downsampled to 48KH (I can´t say if to 16Bit or 24 Bit depth), I guess due the limitations of the internal soundcard of the IPhone (still sounds much better to my ears than the standard resoultion version of the same recording). When I attach my Apogee Duet 2 for Iphone / Ipad at home I can even enjoy the flac files in high resolution without the need of a separate player which is great. If you need a soultion for your flac files on your IPhone this is the way to go, I love it, its worth the money if you ask me. *****

Top Notch FLAC player

slick ui design, great wireless file exchange without using a browser, booming sound. Thanks for the frequent updates!

Crashes when...

...i want to go to the next song it sometimes crashes pls fix

Total crash

This App is supported very poorly. Since I purchased it a year ago, it worked just three weeks. I am tired of waiting on support, will try to get a reimbursement by Apple!

Does work

yes the apps work, play .flac audio files without any problems. Would have been nice if it could also play mp3 so it could be used as main music player.

Does what it says

Plays flac, sounds great. Playing flac stretches a 3G to the limit. It does skip slightly once in a while. The developer responded very quickly and confirmed that the iPhone 3G does run out of steam and hes looking into it. If you power down the 3G and play flac when it starts it works fine so its something to do with Ios4.1 bad housekeeping and poor performance overall Nice to see a good, simple, app that does what its supposed to from a developer that cares and takes pride in their product. Heres hoping the mythical ios4.2.x will fix the performance problems

Good App but lacks some basic features

I have been using this app for nearly a month now, bought it the same day I got my Earsonics SM3 IEMs. The FLAC playback is good but if I am spending almost ten dollars on a music player app I expect it to have a repeat song option. It is frustrating to manually replay songs each time I want to listen to them again. Library is decent, nothing impressive and nothing chaotic either. My request to the developer is please release an update which has the repeat song option and if possible search song option in the library

Crashes when trying to import

Ive tried to transfer multiple files over via iTunes and every time I try and launch the application, it crashes. (Yes, theyre FLAC files). Im not sure if this has been updated to work with iOS5 or not but theres a lot of issues that need to be resolved before I would suggest this to anyone.

Works as advertised

I wanted to have an opportunity to play High Definition FLAC files on my iPhone 4s and this app does just that. Ive just started working with it, and so far, all is good. They load fine, play and sound great. They dont become part of the iPhones music library, but rather are loaded in as documents within the file sharing section of the apps window. When done this way, they dont open in the iTunes player, but rather the FLAC player. So far I have loaded 88Khz/24bit and 96Khz/24bit files and they play fine. The program may not accommodate higher resolution files such as 176Khz/24bit, although I have not tried these yet. I was concerned that it would not work with my Onkyo docking station and Burson DAC converter, but it works fine. It does not offer me a volume control on the iPhone, but the volume appears set at a perfect level and all the control I have through either my preamp or the Burson is all that is needed. Ill continue to experiment, but so far am happy with the results. The price is a bit steep, but if you value the best sound and have high definition files, check out this app. It is a good one.

Excellent

Nice clean and neat flac player. The only bad thing is that you cant transfer more than 1 album per shot or itll crash, but this is not the developer fault but itunes fault.

Great app for the Audiophile!

This app is great for those who are playing LPs on their Ipod and want a free lossless audio option. My Ipod is playing 24-bit 192khz FLAC files with the app without a problem. It seems that the audio processor in the ipod is able to handle good under the pressure of uncompressed FLAC quality! Sure I may only be able to put 50-some of my personal 60s LP albums on my ipod, but at this sound quality, Im just happy with that! :-)

Great App

Been using it on my iPhone. Just picked up the new iPad and love this player.

Decent But No MP3 Support Or "Add All Songs To Playlist" Option

This is a decent but imperfect app. I cant believe its so hard to play my music the way I want to on my iPod. Ive bought Golden Ear (which has its share of other problems, see my review there) and this and neither is optimal. This is a decent Flac player, and does what it says, but who wouldve thought it would -ONLY- play flac files? You know youd just assume it could at least handle MP3 as well. This is incredibly lazy on the developers part. I really cant stress how enough how lazy that is, yes I want to play my Flacs which is what most of my collection is but Im bound to have some extra MP3s as well, not being able to handle MP3s is ridiculously lazy twofold: 1. the basic ipod system software can play it 2. it is the most common damn format (if not the greatest) for music right now, period, by a long shot I have most of my music at home stored on my computer as flac files, with the rest as MP3s until I get around to replacing them (which wont be possible for all). I bought this app to -avoid- having to waste my time converting all my music before I load up my iPod playlist each day, unfortunately, Flac Player doesnt help me here, its just flipped the problem from needing to go Flac --> Mp3 to Mp3 --> Flac. Another relatively annoying issue, as far as I can tell, and Im 90% certain, there is no simple "add all songs in the Flac player folder to playlist" option which is a major pain. I try to load up a new playlist on my iPod to bring it into the warehouse at work to play everday, so I wipe all the songs in the folder of Flac player, throw the new collection of songs onto it, and Id like to just click "play all" or "add all to playlist" and go, quick, simple, efficient. Unfortunately yet another developer (Apple, Golden Ear, Flac Player now) just cant manage to competently make a basic featured useful music player which manages to make my music listening experience on the iPod still a rather annoying experience. Guess Ill have to check out even more damn Flac players now like AcePlayer, OPlayer, etc. and waste even more of my money hoping that someone on the app store can competently make a music player for this highly capable hardware device hampered by wretched software. Id change my review score to a 5 out of 5 and sing this apps praises if both of the above stunningly absent features are added in an update.

No issues

Works perfectly, non invasive, stable, does its job very well.

Garbage

Garbage, wasted my 10 $

Crashes on iOS 7

Needs an update, it crashes with iPhone 4 on ios7, plus theres some bugs, like if you choose a song on shuffle mode it doesnt set it to be the first on the playlist (1 of ...)

A+++

If you are someone who really cares about how your music on your phone sounds, buy this app, it was worth every cent, easier than ever to use
